Great minds across the state are hard at work determining how best to solve our economic crisis, yet very few are looking deep enough. There is a fundamental problem that starts in our educational system – a system that struggles to provide even a basic understanding of personal finance to the young people in Michigan. And then we scratch our heads and wonder why people have no concept of budgeting, are in debt to their eyeballs, on the verge of foreclosure and even bankruptcy. Do you think it’s time to do something different?
The Michigan Jump$tart Coalition says, "Yes it is!" And you can help by sponsoring a Money Smart Library in the school of your choice. A donation of $600 to $5,000 can put a library of personal finance books and tools into the hands of the school children in your area. You can be an advocate for change – one book at a time.
For more information about book sponsorships, contact Lynn Ryan lynn@innerharmonyinc.com.
